We Love the Sonics!

Until the Seahawks went to Super Bowl XL, the young Seattle sports fans who reside in El Casa came closest to sniffing championship glory with the SuperSonics. In the glory days of Payton and Kemp, the Supes were regularly among the best teams in the league. They even took the Bulls to six games in the 1996 NBA Finals (We stood outside Key Arena with hilarious signs).

We would like to thank the Sonics for all these wonderful memories by inviting them to move to Las Vegas, Boise, Spokane, San Diego, or any other city that will take them.

It's not that we don't still love the Sonics--rather we're not in love with them anymore. Not since Brandon Roy got picked up by the Portland Trailblazers. We used to hate those guys. First for beating the Sonics regularly, then for having a very hatable roster.

Now the Blazers have Roy, former Seattle Prep star Martell Webster, and Dan Dickau, who we started to like at UW before he transferred to Gonzaga. The icing on the cake is coach Nate MacMillan, aka Captain Mac, who earned our affection over 19 years as a player and coach with the Sonics. Needless to say, we're a gettin' the vapors!

No, the Blog Is NOT Dead

Yes, we've been doing a horrible job of updating the blog. There are many reasons--the incredible weather, the improving play of the Mariners, David's new "alternative lifestyle"...but I'm not here to point fingers.

I'm here to say that we are rededicating ourselves to the blog. Look for more pictures, more posts, more updates on what the three (now four, with the addition of lovely Saira through August) are doing.

Last night, Jasaira and David went to a bbq at the McDonald compound, while Seth stayed in and worked on an article for Seattle Metropolitan. David came back to get him and they watched the Mariners piss away a lead. Then they decided to stop torturing themselves and join Jasaira at Taco Tuesday at the Tin Hat. Saira endured our hilarious brand of humor without killing herself, Jason took her off on his scooter, and David and I returned home to watch a time-frozen 9th inning Mariner rally.

A good night.

Welcome to Seattle Saira Buffalo, NY Party Recap

It was a good time on Saturday night as we successfully removed any trace of Saira's home sickness for Buffalo. Unfortunately since it's been about ten years since she last lived in Buffalo, it appears that we all wasted our time.

However, not before we all enjoyed homemade Buffalo Wings, looked at pictures of Jim Kelly, and drank like a laid off Trico worker.

We realize that many of you would have liked to attend the party, but couldn't make it. We feel for you, and so you don't feel left out, we ask you to play who was the bigger tool at the party?

Welcome to Seattle Saira and Happy Birthday.
