Sat., Oct 22nd World Series Game One Party

When: 5:00pm

What we will serve: Cheap beer, hot dogs, a crapload of garlic mashed potatoes, and Guinness Beef Stew (a personal favorite). Maybe some other vegetables. Also snack stuff.

What to bring: If you want to drink anything other than cheap beer, bring it.

Why: I ALWAYS watch game one of the World Series. I turned down a weekend in Port Townsend with a very charming and attractive girl because this tradition is inviolate. It signals the beginning of fall, and provides an opportunity to insult inane FOX broadcasters Joe Buck and Tim McCarver, who I think are lovers.

Whom to invite: We are especially interested in hosting rabid baseball fans, particularly people who find this sublimely hilarious. If you know a longtime baseball fan, please invite him or her. Especially if he or she is a fan of one of the teams involved.

Whom to not invite: People who will complain audibly about baseball being boring. You may think it, but don't say it. Instead, consider this quote by famed sportscaster Red Barber.

To guarantee that I make the proper amount of stew, please RSVP in the comments.
